Tripod Tips: basic advice
Tripods, having three legs, can tip. Follow this advice to avoid accidents:
Always take the camera off the tripod when moving it. The quick
release plate makes this easy to do.
If you do need to shift the tripod slightly while the camera is on it,
make sure you have one hand on the camera handle as you are shifting
the tripod legs.
If you suspect that the camera will be in a high traffic area when
shooting (a conference, for example), you can steady the legs of the
tripod against sandbags (available from the EV depot). Sandbags are
also useful if the surface is uneven.
