Press in ward on the sides of the front drive cover
and re lease the tabs that se cure the front drive cover
to the height ad juster brack ets. Re move drive cover
from the mower.
Us ing a torx wrench, loosen the screw hold ing the
belt ten sion spring to the trans mis sion. See Fig ure
13. Do not re move the screw com pletely. As you
loosen the screw, the ten sion on the belt will be re -
leased.
Push the trans mis sion up a lit tle and slide the belt off
the trans mis sion pul ley.
Lift the mower to ac cess the belt from the un der side
of the mower.
Slide the belt off the en gine pul ley and around the
blade. See Fig ure 14.
Re place with the new belt, work ing around the blade.
Make sure the belt is firmly seated on the en gine pul -
ley while pull ing from the other side and slid ing it
around the trans mis sion pul ley.
Put the mower down with all four wheels firmly
placed on one level.
Tighten the screw, loos ened ear lier, to se cure the
belt ten sion spring to the trans mis sion, and re as sem -
ble the front drive cover.
Rear Flap Re place ment
The rear flap is at tached to the back of the mower deck,
and is de signed to min i mize the pos si bil ity that ob jects
will be thrown from the rear of the mower to ward the op -
er a tor. If the rear flap be comes dam aged, re place as
fol lows.
To re move the old rear flap, cut off the flat end of the
wire rod which se cures it to the deck us ing a pair of
side-cut ters. At tach the new rear flap us ing the new rod
pro vided with the rear flap, bend ing the ends of the rod
over to se cure.
Cut ting Height
Each wheel has a height ad just ment le ver to change
the cut ting height of the mower.
To change the height of cut, squeeze ad juster le ver
to ward the wheel, mov ing up or down to se lected
height.
NOTE: All wheels must be in the same height of cut.

OFF SEASON STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

The fol low ing steps should be taken to pre pare lawn
mower for stor age.
Clean and lu bri cate mower thor oughly as de scribed
in the lu bri ca tion in struc tions.
Re fer to en gine man ual for cor rect en gine stor age in -
struc tions.
Coat mower's cut ting blade with chas sis grease to
pre vent rust ing.
Store mower in a dry, clean area.

NOTE: When stor ing any type of power equip -
ment in an un ven ti lated or metal stor age shed,
care should be taken to rust-proof the equip ment.
Us ing a light oil or sil i cone, coat the equip ment,
es pe cially ca bles and all mov ing parts.
NOTE: Be care ful not to bend or kink ca bles.
NOTE: If the starter rope be comes dis con nected
from rope guide on han dle, dis con nect and
ground the spark plug wire. De press the blade
con trol han dle and pull the starter rope out from
en gine slowly. Slip the starter rope into the rope
guide bolt on han dle.
