OPERATION
The Tracker IV is a "MO TION" de tec tor. This means that the
searchcoil must be moving to de tect the pres ence of metal. When
practicing with a stationary metal detector, keep the target moving
over the coil. Objects held still un der the searchcoil will not be
detected.
THREE MODES OF OPERATION
The Tracker IV allows for three modes of operation:
ALL METAL, TONE AND FULL DISCRIMINATE
After turning the unit on, and adjusting your Sensitivity to the
desired setting, you're now ready to decide on your mode of
operation.

ALL METAL:

(Toggle Switch in the Middle) In this mode, all different
types of metal will be detected such as: iron, steel, aluminum,
brass, silver, cop per and gold. Applications: Relic Hunting, Gold
Pros pect ing, Cache Hunting and general ap pli ca tions such as
property marker locating. This mode provides maximum depth
detection capability.
FULL DIS CRIM I NATE:
(Toggle Switch to the Left) When us ing the
Full Dis crim i na tor, most trash items will be automatically rejected.
Ad just the DIS CRIM I NATE con trol high er to in crease the range of

discrimination.

TONE DISCRIMINATE:
(Toggle Switch to the Right) When us ing the
Tone Dis crim i na tor, a unique dual tone "beep" and automatic iron
re jec tion makes find ing trea sure fun and easy. It's also possible
to achieve a broken tone for certain pull-tabs by ad just ing your
Discriminate con trol to the ap prox i mate center position (12:00).
With the two-tone dis crim i na tion, along with a broken tone for
pull-tabs, you will be able to identify types of buried metals
according to the audio tones emitted. Ap pli ca tions: Coinshooting,
Jewelry Hunt ing and de tect ing in highly trashed areas.
