Storage resource management enhancements

Support for 64-bit aggregates

In Data ONTAP 8.0 7-Mode and later releases, Data ONTAP supports a new
type of aggregate, the 64-bit aggregate. 64-bit aggregates have a larger
maximum size than 32-bit aggregates. In addition, volumes contained by
64-bit aggregates have a larger maximum size than volumes contained by
32-bit aggregates.
The maximum size of a 64-bit aggregate and the volumes it contains depends
on the model of your storage system. To determine the maximum 64-bit
aggregate size for your storage system model, see the IBM System Storage N
series Introduction and Planning Guide. The maximum size of a volume
contained by a 64-bit aggregate corresponds to the maximum size of its
containing aggregate.
The maximum size for 32-bit aggregates remains 16 TB.

File space utilization report

The file space utilization report enables you to see the files and the amount of
space that they occupy in a deduplicated volume. You can choose to either
move or delete the files to reclaim the space.
This report provides a view of the total number of blocks in a file and the
number of blocks that are shared by non-deduplicated or non-cloned files.
Note: Total blocks refer to the number of blocks in a file, including blocks
that are required for storing the file metadata.
