Modem and Fax connection
You can connect your laptop to the analog data port on the top
side of the telephone. This is extremely useful if you want to use
your personal service provider for Internet access or if you would
like to check your e-mails. Depending on your modem functions,
you can also sent a fax message using your laptop.
Note: You need an analog modem (integrated or external).
An ISDN modem (digital) will not work. Furthermore, your
computer has to be configured for your service provider,
including your personal valid access data.
Check your laptop settings.
To use the data port, set the number for the external call access in
your modem settings to 0. Most operating systems have a special
dial-up setting where the number for external connections can be
entered.
Note: To establish a dial-up connection, your modem does
not have to wait for a dial tone. If you activate waiting for a
dial tone, the connection will not be established.
Connect your laptop or modem to the data port.
Start your dial-up connection.
