Configuring Port Settings

This section describes how to configure the following port settings: port name, speed/duplex
parameter, and flow control state. Refer to the "Configuring Port Security" section later in
this chapter for information on how to set the port security parameters.
The speed-duplex parameter for each port can be set to 1000M/Full, 100M/Full, 100M/Half,
10M/Full, 10M/Half, or Auto. The Auto setting allows the port to automatically determine
the fastest settings that the device the port is connected to can handle.
IMPORTANT: In the forced 100M/Full, 100M/Half, 10M/Full, and 10M/Half modes, auto MDI-X is
disabled and a cross-over cable must be used.
To configure ports:
1. Highlight Configure Ports from the Configuration menu.
2. Press the Enter key. The following screen is displayed.
