COMPONENTS (FIG. A)

WARNING: Never modify the power tool or any part
of it. Damage or personal injury could result.
Refer to Figure A at the beginning of this manual for a
complete list of components.

Intended Use

This cable cutter is designed for professional copper,
aluminum, and ACSR cable cutting applications only.
DO nOT use for cutting guy wire, rod, bolts, pipe,
tubing, etc.
DO nOT use under wet conditions or in presence of
flammable liquids or gases.
This cable cutter is a professional power tool. DO nOT let
children come into contact with the tool. Supervision is
required when inexperienced operators use this tool.
Trigger Switch (Fig. A)
Squeezing the trigger switch 
fully releasing the trigger switch turns it off. Since the tool
is equipped with a brake, the movable blade 
soon as the trigger switch is fully released.
Directional/Lock-Off Button (Fig. A)
The position of directional/lock-off button 
the direction of the tool and whether the tool is locked-off.
When changing the position of the directional/lock-off
button, be sure the trigger is released.
When the directional/lock-off button is pressed to the right
side of the tool the trigger switch 
the blades.
When the directional/lock-off button is pressed to the
left side of the tool the trigger switch will reverse/open
the blades.
The center position of the directional/lock-off button locks
the trigger switch in the off position.
Hang Hook (Fig. A, D)

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, do not use the tool's hang hook to hang the
tool from your body. DO NOT use the hang hook for
tethering or securing the tool to a person or object
during use. DO NOT suspend tool overhead or suspend
objects from the hang hook.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury from the cable
cutter falling on operators or bystanders, make sure
it is supported securely when using the hang hook,
or resting in a secure and stable location when not in
use. Be sure to keep the area below clear to reduce the
risk of the tool or off-cut material falling and striking
someone or something below.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, ensure the screw holding the hang hook
is secure.
iMPORTAnT: When attaching or replacing the hang
hook

shoulder strap clips

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS


WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn unit off and remove the battery pack
before making any adjustments or removing/
installing attachments or accessories. An
accidental start-up can cause injury.
Replacing Movable Blade (Fig. E)

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, do not use the cable cutter with any kind
of accessory or attachment other than those
recommended by D
WALT.

WARNING: Blades are sharp. Keep hands away
from cutting edges. Lacerations can occur.
Replace the blades when they become dull or chipped.
A blade is dull when blade edge appears dull, rounded,
or damaged. nOTE: Only replace blades with D
ACSR blades.

WARNING: Always replace blade when dull.
NEVER sharpen a dull blade.
1. Remove the battery pack.
2. Rotate blade so that it is clear of pinion gear.
3. Holding the lock nut

remove shoulder blade screw 
4. Install new blade by reassembling shoulder blade screw
and lock nut. nOTE: Nut should be tightened to 260
lb-in.
nOTE: A gear guide 
on either side of the moving blade

should be replaced if damaged or worn.
if material gets stuck:
1. Remove the battery from the tool.
2. Loosen the blade bolt by holding the lock nut 
wrench and loosen shoulder blade screw 
3. Free the material.
