6. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the cables. See "Completing the parts replacement" on
page 126.
7. Turn on the computer and all connected devices.
Note: When the computer is turned on for the first time after replacing the coin-cell battery, an error
message might be displayed. This is normal after replacing the coin-cell battery.
8. Use the Setup Utility program to set the date, time, and any passwords. See "Using the Setup Utility
program" on page 63.

Replacing a PCI/PCI-Express card

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
To replace a PCI/PCI-Express card, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 90.
3. Locate the PCI/PCI-Express card you want to replace. The PCI/PCI-Express cards are installed in the
PCI/PCI-Express card slots on the system board. See "Parts on the system board" on page 34.
4. At the rear of the computer, remove the screw that secures the PCI Express card latch.
