11.4. Check the RF Unit
11.4.1. Defective Unit Check
The defective unit should be checked using the HS of Regular unit (working) and BS of Regular
unit (working). Both* of Regular unit (working) are required as the defect may be either in the
handset or the base of the defective unit. For a defective BASE UNIT, place HS of Regular unit
(working) on the cradle of the unit and check to see that the handset links with the base. To
confirm that they do link, lift handset off the cradle and press TALK button. A beep is heard and
in use/charge LED's of the base unit should turn on. For a defective HANDSET UNIT, place HS
on the cradle of the BS of Regular unit (working) and check to see that the HS links with the
base. Again, press TALK button. A beep is heard and in use/charge LED's of the BS of Regular
unit (working) should turn on.
