The phone does not ring or rings
too softly
Make sure the microphone has not been
muted. See "To mute the microphone
during a call" on page 16.
Check the ringtone volume. See "To set
the ringtone volume" on page 37.
Check the profile. See "To select a
profile" on page 49.
Check the Forward call options. See
"To forward calls" on page 23.
Error messages
Insert SmartChip
There is no SmartChip in your phone
or you may have inserted it incorrectly.
See Charging the battery on page 7.
The SmartChip connectors need
cleaning. If the card is damaged,
contact AT&T.
Insert correct SmartChip
Your phone is set to work only with
certain Smartchips. Check if you are
using an AT&T SmartChip.

You have entered your PIN or PIN2
incorrectly.
Enter the correct PIN or PIN2 and select
Yes. See To insert the SmartChip on

You have entered your PIN or PIN2
code incorrectly three times in a row.
To unblock, see SmartChip lock on
page 50.
Codes do not match
Codes that you have entered do not
match. When you want to change a
security code, for example your PIN,
you have to confirm the new code.

No netw. coverage
our phone is in flight mode. See Flight
Y
mode on page 6.
Your phone is not receiving any network
signal, or the received signal is too weak.
Contact AT&T and make sure that the
network has coverage where you are.
