本書では、Windows ® ユーザを対象に、Model EA101 USB Ethernet アダプタ のイ
ンストール方法を説明します。Windows ネットワーク・ドライバのインスト ールと確認
方法については、｢ネットワーク・ドライバのインストール」を参照してください。
以下の手順で Model EA101 USB Ethernet アダプタをインストールしてください。

ネットワーク・ケーブルの接続
1. UTP ケーブルを使って、ハブのいずれかのポートと アダプタの RJ-45 ポートを接
続します。
2. ネットワーク・ケーブルを接続するには下図を参照してください。
注： NETGEAR ハブの 1 つのポートは、Normal/Uplink 切り換えスイッ
チで Normal（MDI-X） と Uplink（MDI） を切り換えできます。このポー
トを使って PC、ネットワーク・カード、または Model EA101 USB
Ethernet アダプタを接続する場合は、Normal/Uplink 切り換えスイッチ
が Normal に設定されていることを確認してください。

ここでは、Model EA101 USB Ethernet アダプタ を Microsoft ® Windows 98 PC
で使用するための方法を説明します。
Ethernet アダプタのインストール
Model EA101 USB Ethernet アダプタはホット・ス ワップ可能なので、PC の電源が
オン／オフどちらの状態でも挿入できます。
1. 図に示すように Model EA101 USB Ethernet アダプタを USB（Universal
Serial Bus）ポートに挿入します。
PC によっては USB ポートを 2 つ備えた機種もありますが、 Model EA101 USB
Ethernet アダプタはどちらのポートにも挿入できます。
2. Model EA101 USB Ethernet アダプタにカテゴリ 5 10/100 Mbps UTP ケー
ブルを接続します。
