when actually using the JTNI card.
The notation TcnXxxxYyyy used in this chapter denotes the name of a support function.

6.1 Station Control

6.1.1

Entering a Logical Ring

TC-net 100 uses a transmission path access protocol referred to as DOMA (Deterministic
Ordered Multiple Access). With DOMA, transmission with other stations is performed by
entering a logical ring as with token passing protocol.
In order to enter a logical ring, you must set the scan transmission cycle with
TcnSccSetCycle. When you issue this function, a high-, middle-, or low-speed scan
transmission cycle is set and you are entered in a logical ring. When you reset the JTNI
card, you are removed from the logical ring. Therefore, you must issue TcnSccSetCycle
once more to enter the logical ring.
