    System fault or data loss may occur, if the power fails or the power system (including the power switch) is turned off. Toshiba cannot assure any compensation for the resulting damages. Take precautions in advance to protect the system in order to prevent such event to take place.
  • Page 4 Do not block vents, intake or exhaust openings of the equipment. Blocking them may cause malfunctioning or overheating which may result in fire. Ensure correct cabling: Correctly connect the accompanying cables to the JOKC1 card and keyboard UOPK8UE connectors. Incorrect connection may result in damaging the equipment. Avoid noise interference: Place I/O signal and data transmission signal cables away from the power cables and the devices that generate magnetic or electric fields.
  • Page 5 Use a conductive mat or bag to avoid static: When the JOKC1 card is removed from the OIS PC, it should be placed on a conductive bag (containing reserve cards, etc.) or on a static proof mat, which is put on a grounded work bench.
  • Page 6 Do not touch components: Do not touch the JOKC1 card parts, pins, connectors or soldered surfaces with any part of your body. Static electricity may damage IC's or LSI's, and cause equipment to fail. This may also result in damaging the pointed end of the component lead.

    This interface card of a PCI expansion card type connects the OIS-DS main unit (your personal computer) and the operator’s keyboard (UOPK8UE). The JOKC1 card is used by being mounted on the main unit PCI bus expansion slot of the OIS-DS.

Part Names and Operations 4) Communication operation display LED (STAT) Indicates that the local processor on the operator’s keyboard control card (JOKC1) is communicating correctly with the processor of the OIS-DS main unit. If the communication status is normal, the LED repeats its blinking.

Alarm Keys : Halt Alarm Key BUZZER RESET Can halt the alarm sound of the buzzer. : Halt Flicker Key ALARM CONFIRM Can check the unconfirmed alarm that has occurred.

ENTER : Execute Operation Key EXECUTE This key executes DO's ON/OFF operation. : Unlock Key UNLOCK This key is for preventing careless operations. : Hard Copy (HC) Key HARD This key is executed to get a hardcopy of the screen.

    • Make sure to read your PC's instruction manual before starting the installation. • After installing the JOKC1 card, make sure to reconstruct the system by using the Setup program. The current capacity of the JOKC1 card is up to 5V2A.

    Connecting the Operator’s Keyboard (UOPK8UE) Connect the COM1 port connector of the OIS-DS main unit and the connector CN2 of the operator’s keyboard control card (JOKC1) mounted on the PCI expansion slot with the accompanying specialized cable. Connect the operator’s keyboard (UOPK8UE) and the connector CN1 of the operator’s keyboard control card (JOKC1) with the specialized cable.

    Table 4.1 shows the lifetime of the operator’s keyboard (UOPK8UE). For replacement, choose a proper time such as the routine inspection. Toshiba will not be responsible for any damages resulting when the lifetime of these units comes to an end while being used.
