SYMPTOMS
Frozen displays on all the
M4000-series terminals
connected to a LANlink SRU.

ASCII TERMINAL FAULTS
An ASCII terminal connected
to the system via a LAN
Interface Unit (LIU) does not
display the system menu on

PROBABLE CAUSES
There is a LANlink fault.
There is a LANlink fault.
The Simple Forms Handler
(SFH) PRU is corrupted.
The system has hung.
The terminal is not receiving
power.
There is a power fault in the
DNC.
The terminal's internal
configuration does not
correspond to the definition
of the LIU port it uses.
The connections to the
modem are defective.
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
Investigate the LANlink SRU. (See
LANLINK FAULTS, later in this
table.)
Investigate the LANlink SRU. (See
LANLINK FAULTS, later in this
table.)
Reload the SFH PRU.
Reboot the system.
Make sure the terminal is
switched on.
Clear the power fault. (See POWER
FAULTS, earlier in this table.)
In the batch configuration file, the
port is defined as an ATA port.
Check that the terminal's internal
configuration corresponds to the
port definition in the batch
configuration file. (For information
on the batch configuration file, see
450-1011-301, Part 13,
'Configuring ASCII Device
Services'.)
Check the connections.
