    Getting Started Introduction Congratulations for purchasing the Actiontec ECB5240M Managed 4- Port ECB with Bonded MoCA Adapter. The Adapter is a simple, flexible solution for extending a home network. By leveraging the ubiquity of coaxial cabling within the modern home, the Adapter provides multiple Ethernet Internet ports anywhere a coaxial connection is available.

    Accessing the Adapter’s GUI The Adapter features an onboard graphical user interface (GUI) that includes user-configurable settings. Some of these settings should be accessed by experienced network technicians only. To configure the network settings of the Adapter: 1. Ensure that the Adapter is powered up and connected to a computer via an Ethernet cable.

    Managed 4-Port ECB with Bonded MoCA Status The first GUI screen that appears is the Status screen (see figure on previous page), which can also be generated by clicking the Status icon in the menu bar. This screen contains basic information about the Adapter’s network stations, as well as relevant product information.
  • Page 11 Accessing the Adapter’s GUI Change Password The Change Password screen allows the user to change the password that allows access to the GUI. To change, enter the current password, enter and re-enter the new password, then click Apply. Be sure to write the password down and keep it somewhere safe, as it will be needed to access the Adapter’s GUI in the future.
  • Page 12 Managed 4-Port ECB with Bonded MoCA Factory Default The Factory Default screen allows the Adapter’s factory default settings to be reapplied, erasing all current settings. Click Restore Default Settings to restore the Adapter to its factory default state. Firmware Restore The Firmware Restore screen lists the active and backup firmware versions available on the Adapter.
