Remove the cable from the cable connector on the back of the cradle. Do not leave your GPS unit exposed in an unattended vehicle on a hot day. To prevent damage, remove it from the vehicle; or store it out of direct sunlight, such as in the glove box.
Find Your Destination Flip up the antenna on the unit to get satellite signals. The GPS satellite signals being received by your unit. When you see green bars, you have a strong signal. See page 57 for more information. After you have a satellite fix, use the Honda Portable Navigation System to find your destination and go to it.
4. Touch OK, drive to a security location, and touch Set. Each time you turn on the unit, enter the 4-digit PIN or drive to the security location. NoTe: If you forget your PIN and your security location, you must send your unit to Garmin to get it unlocked.
• Touch Save to save the selected location to your Favorites. • If the antenna is down (which turns the GPS off), touch to set your location to the selected location. • Touch Back to return to the previous screen.

The raVel Use the Bilingual Dictionaries The Garmin Language Guide provides five bilingual dictionaries. You can easily translate words and hear their pronunciation using the Bilingual Dictionaries. Touch Travel Kit > Language ➊ Touch Bilingual Dictionaries. ➌ Search for the word and touch it.
Use the Travel Guide Much like a paper travel guide, the Garmin Travel Guide such as restaurants and hotels. To purchase the Garmin Travel Guide accessory, go to the Garmin Web site www.garmin.com/extras or contact your Garmin dealer. After you have received your Garmin Travel Guide SD card, follow the directions on the package or in the Help file to learn how to load the data into your unit.

1. Eject/unmount the unit from your computer. Unplug the USB cable from your unit. 2. Open AudibleManager. 3. In the “Choose your device” window, click the box next to “Garmin - nüvi” to place a check mark in the box. Click Next.

Use a Remote Antenna You can use an optional external remote antenna (Garmin GA 27C). This is very helpful when operating the unit in a vehicle with a coated windshield or an in-screen (in the window) heating system, which can block GPS signals.

PPendix FM TMC Traffic Information Using an optional Garmin FM TMC traffic receiver, your Honda Portable Navigation System can receive and use traffic information broadcast over the FM radio data system. When a traffic message is received, your unit displays the event on the map and can change your route to avoid the traffic incident.
When it loses satellite signals, the bars turn red or disappear Touch the signals strength bars in the upper left corner of the Menu page to view GPS information. The sky view shows the satellites you are receiving. The satellite signal strength bars indicate the strength of each satellite you are receiving.
