To fill the spectrometer Dewar with liquid nitrogen:

If the spectrometer has been turned off for an extended period, it will take about
NOTE
30 minutes to reach its operating temperature. (If you collect data before the
spectrometer has reached operating temperature, your data may not be
accurate.)

Extreme Cold Hazard
WARNING
Liquid nitrogen is very cold and can cause damage to the human body. Use
appropriate protective equipment when handling liquid nitrogen.

Turn on the spectrometer power switch located on the rear of the
spectrometer.
If you have a cryogenically-cooled detector (MCT or InSb), fill its
Dewar with liquid nitrogen as follows:

Raise the spectrometer cover. The Dewar access hole is on
the right rear of the detector compartment cover.
