Drive: Only the wheels are engaged with the
engine; the tines are disengaged. Use this mode
for powered transportation when driving up steep
inclines and moving the machine to and from your
garden.

Counter-rotating tines (CRT): The wheels and
tines are both engaged with the engine; the tines
spin in the opposite direction of the wheels. Use
this mode when breaking new ground or tilling in
compacted soil conditions.

Neutral: The wheels and tines are both
disengaged from the engine. Use this mode for
storage and non-powered transportation.

Drive-Control Levers
Pull down the forward lever to engage the transmission
in the forward direction; pull up on the reverse lever to
engage the transmission in the reverse direction.
Release the levers to disengage the transmission.
Important:
Do not attempt to engage the forward
and reverse levers at the same time.
WARNING
Contact with moving tines can result in
personal injury.
When moving the machine in reverse, watch

for obstacles behind you and keep your feet
away from the tines.
