Symptom
The IC recorder does not

Remedy
• You may have formatted the memory of the IC recorder using the
computer. Use the IC recorder formatting function to format the
memory (page 94).
• The batteries are weak (page 14).
• The power to the IC recorder is off. Slide the HOLD•POWER
ON/OFF switch in the direction of "POWER ON/OFF" for more
than 1 second (page 15).
• The HOLD function is activated. Slide the HOLD•POWER ON/
OFF switch in the center direction (page 11).
• The volume is turned down completely (page 26).
• Headphones are plugged in (page 50).
• When you are listening to the FM radio, "Audio Output" is set to
"Headphones." Set it to "Speaker" (page 78).
• When audio output of an external device is monaural and the
recording mode is set to "128kbps" (STSP) or "192kbps" (ST),
sounds are recorded only in one channel. In this case, set the
recording mode to "48kbps(MONO) " (SP) or "8kbps(MONO)"
(LP),or use the supplied plug adaptor to convert monaural sound
to stereo sounds.
• If you plug in the headphones not securely during playback, the
sound may come from the speaker. Unplug the headphones, and
then insert them securely.
• When you are listening to the FM radio, "Audio Output" is set to
"Speaker." Set it to "Headphones" (page 78).
• "LED" is set to "OFF." Display the menu and set "LED" to "ON"
(page 91).
• The memory is full. Erase some of the files (page 30) or erase all
the files after you store them on the other memory media or on
your computer.
