Learn the home screen
Here we show you around your Samsung Galaxy's home screen and
notifi cations bar, then teach you the interaction gestures to use
Dock Wallpaper
Put your favourite Wallpaper sits behind the
apps in the Dock and icons. You can change this
they'll be available on with a tap and hold of the
every home screen home screen

Each application can
be placed on a home
screen and identified
by its unique icon

Common icons
Time
The time
shows in the
very top-right
corner of the
home screen
Battery
Battery level
is indicated
here, and a
lightning bolt
icon shows if it
is charging
Wi-Fi
You can see if
you've got an
active Wi-Fi
connection by
checking the
tiny upload
and download
arrows just
beneath the
signal strength
Wi-Fi signal
This icon shows your Wi-Fi signal
strength (the top bars) and whether
the connection is active (the arrows)
3G/4G connection
Here you can see your mobile phone
signal, its strength, and whether it is
currently in operation
Missed call
You have a missed call. You can pull
the notifications bar down to see
more information and return the call
Battery (charging)
Your battery charge level is indicated
and a white icon within shows if it is
currently charging
Alarm
If you've got one or more alarms set
then the alarm icon will be present in
the notifications bar
Silent/vibrate
If you have your device set to silent or
vibrate mode then an icon will show
to indicate this
Blocking mode
Blocking mode stops you receiving
unwanted calls and notifications.
When it is activate you'll see this icon
Bluetooth
Bluetooth gives you access to short
range wireless communications with
other devices such as speakers
Downloads
When you are downloading apps and
updates this icon will be displayed
throughout the process
Google Play updates
When there are updates on Google
Play this icon lets you know so that
you can go and download them
USB connection
When your Galaxy device is
connected to a PC via USB this icon
will be shown in the notifications bar
GPS active
This icon shows you that the GPS
function is active and currently
locked onto your position
