Turning the power on

After checking all the connections have been made correctly, connect the AC power
lead to the AC power input socket, then plug the AC power lead of this unit into the
wall socket.
Notes:
z When you cannot identify the polarity of the wall socket without an earth terminal,
try to plug it upside down or other methods to obtain the optimal sound quality.
z Never use a power lead other than the one supplied. Otherwise, a malfunction or
an accident may occur.
z Unplug the unit if it is not to be used for a prolonged period of time.
„ To turn the power on
Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on.
To set the unit to stand-by mode:
Press the ON/STAND-BY button again.

„ Volume control
Press the VOLUME
decreasing.
„ Bass control
Wall socket
When the X-BASS button is pressed, the current mode setting will be displayed. To
(AC 230 V, 50 Hz)
change to a different mode, press the X-BASS button.
Bass frequencies are emphasised.
This function is enabled only when the sound mode is set to "STEREO" or "VIR-
TUAL".(page 47.)
„ To change the display brightness (2 levels)
You can switch the display brightness by holding down the DISPLAY button on the
remote control for 2 seconds or more.
