To activate a VAIO Power Management power scheme, proceed as follows:

Open Adjust Power Properties.
2 Select the Power Schemes tab.

Select a power scheme in the Power schemes drop-down list.
4 If you now select the VAIO Power Management tab, you see that the selected power scheme appears to the right of Power
Scheme.

If necessary, you can change the items in the list, E.g., the brightness of the LCD.
6 Click OK.
The power scheme has been activated.

To set up a power scheme, you must have a computer administrator account.

If you have a mobile CPU (see the printed Specifications sheet), a CPU control icon may appear in the taskbar. The CPU control icon indicates the CPU control status
(Performance, Adaptive, Battery Life, Degrade). To make the icon appear, click the Advanced button on the VAIO Power Management tab. Select the Show CPU status
icon in the taskbar box and then click OK.

Description
Turns off all power management features such as Standby and
Hibernate modes.
The power management state when AC power is in use.
Provides power saving features to give you maximum battery life
and good performance. It reduces the brightness of the display and
puts the system into Standby mode after a specified time period.
Extends the VAIO Maximum Battery by completely disabling the
optical drive.
