3.2 COMPONENTS AND CONTROLS

Before starting to work, all operators should
familiarize themselves with the location and
function of the components and controls.
Options and their locations may vary.
Control Panel:
Start the engine, operate the conveyor, open
the gates, and work the weigh scale, from the
control panel.
a. Electrical System Key Switch:
Turn the key clockwise to turn the electrical
system ON. The key must be in the ON
position for the engine to start. Turn the key
counterclockwise to stop the engine and
turn OFF the electrical system.
b. Engine Start Button (located in Control Box):
Press and hold this button until the engine
starts.
- Set the choke lever on the engine when
starting the engine.
- Turn the key switch counterclockwise to
turn OFF the engine.
Gas Engine:
Read the engine manufacturer's manual for
more detailed instructions.
c. Choke Lever:
Choke the valve for starting when the engine
is cold. Open the choke as the engine warms.
d. Fuel Shut-Off Valve:
Slide the fuel valve toward engine to turn ON.
- ALWAYS close the valve OFF when not in
use or before transporting.
e. Throttle Lever:
Move the lever laterally to increase or
decrease the RPM.

Always run at maximum engine speed.
Starting Rope:
Grasp the T-handle firmly and pull the rope
sharply to start the engine. Key on master
control must be ON to pull-start.
Battery (12 Volt):
A 12 Volt battery supplies the power to start
the engine. When the engine is operating a
trickle charge is sent to the battery to keep
it fully charged.
