G
WARNING
If objects, luggage or loads are not secured or
not secured sufficiently, they could slip, tip
over or be flung around and thereby hit vehicle
occupants. There is a risk of injury, especially
when braking or abruptly changing directions.
Always store objects so that they cannot be
flung around. Secure objects, luggage or
loads against slipping or tipping before the
journey.
G
WARNING
If you load the vehicle unevenly, driving char-
acteristics such as steering and braking
behaviour may be severely impaired. There is
a risk of an accident.
Load the vehicle evenly. Secure the load so
that it cannot slip.
G
WARNING
The exhaust tail pipe and tail pipe trim can
become very hot. If you come into contact
with these parts of the vehicle, you could burn
yourself. There is a risk of injury.
Always be particularly careful around the
exhaust tail pipe and the tail pipe trim. Allow
these components to cool down before touch-
ing them.
G
WARNING
Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
gases such as carbon monoxide. If the rear
door is open when the engine is running, par-
ticularly if the vehicle is moving, exhaust
fumes could enter the passenger compart-
ment. There is a risk of poisoning.
Turn off the engine before opening the rear
door. Never drive with the rear door open.
Driving, braking and steering characteristics
change depending on:
type of load
R
weight
R
the centre of gravity of the load

R
vehicle weight or the permissible axle loads
for the vehicle (including occupants).
position heavy loads as far forwards as pos-
R
sible and as low down in the luggage com-
partment as possible.
the load must not protrude above the upper
R
edge of the seat backrests.
always place the load against the backrests of
R
the front seats or rear seats.
always place the load behind unoccupied
R
seats if possible.
if possible, always transport the load in the
R
load compartment with the seat backrests
folded up and engaged.
use the lashing eyelets and the luggage nets
R
to transport loads and luggage.
only use lashing eyelets and fastening com-
R
ponents that are suitable for the weight and
size of the load.
