Step 5. Disconnect the microprocessor fan cable from the system board.
Step 6. Remove the 4 screws that secure the heat-sink assembly to the motherboard.
Step 7. Lift up the heat-sink to remove it.
Step 8. To install the new heat-sink assembly:
a.
Use a thermal grease syringe to place five drops of grease on the top of the microprocessor.
Each drop of grease should be 0.03ml (3 tick marks on the grease syringe).
b.
Line up the screws on the new heat-sink with mounting holes on the motherboard and secure
it with the 4 screws.
c.
Reconnect the microprocessor fan power cable to the connector on the motherboard.
Step 9. Reattach the computer cover.
