Manual instruction | Gasoline chain saw
Sawing logs
Place the log on
supports (or use a
special saw- horse), as
shown on following
figures. The sawn-off
billet must fall down
freely,
without
jamming the cutting
unit.
When sawing short billets these must be fixed
securely (e.g. with the help of brackets).
Be especially careful when carrying out
longitudinal cuts, as in such case the notched rest
(3) cannot be used.
Stand higher than the log to be sawn or to the
side of It, when operating on slopes.
Sawing wood which is under mechanical pressure
Branches, trees or wooden materials which stay
under mechanical pressure and can be released
due to sawing, are characterized by an absolutely
unpredictable response and cause severe or even
lethal injury. In such cases be especially cautious.
Such operations can be performed only
by trained and skilled specialists.
If the billet is supported from both ends (look
figure on the left), the incision to 1/3 of thickness
must be first made from above (A), then the billet
must be sawn in the same location from below (B) to
prevent splitting the wood and jamming the cutting
unit of the machine. With this any contact of the saw
chain (1) with the ground must be avoided.
If the billet contacts the support from one end
only (look figure on the right) an incision to 1/3
of the thickness must be first made from below
(A) and then be sawn off completely in the same
location from above (B). Thus splitting the wood
and jamming the cutting unit of the machine can
be prevented.
Felling trees
Always wear a protective helmet to protect the
head from falling brushwood.
The machine can be used only for felling trees
EN
with the trunk diameter less than the length of the
machine's cutting unit.
Bar access to the working area.
Never make attempts to release the machine
being jammed in the wood with the running engine.
Use wooden wedges by driving them into the wood
in order to release the saw chain.
Note:
determine the falling direction of the
tree beforehand, at that the center of gravity of the
crown of the tree and wind direction must be taken
into account.
Saw the incision (A) directed towards the falling
side of the tree. Such an incision must be as deep as
1/3 of the tree's diameter. After that the horizontal
cut (B) must be made from the opposite side of the
trunk, it must begin ca. 4 cm above the cut (A).
A
Do not saw the trunk completely!
Keep ca. 1/10 of the trunk diameter. If the tree
begins to fall, draw the cutting unit of the machine
out of the cut and step back or aside.
The working area round the trunk must be free
from any obstacles, at the same time, the operator
must have a safe support and ready retreat paths.
Now, when the sawing is over, the felling of the
tree must be initiated by driving the wedge (C) into
the horizontal cut (B).
When the tree begins to fall, beware of breaking
and falling branches and brushwood.

Maintenance and cleaning

Prior to any maintenance procedures
the machine must be switched off.
Cleaning the machine
Clean the machine casing from sawdust and
wooden waste, purge the vents thoroughly. Do not
use caustic substances or solvents for the cleaning
of the machine.
Avoid any oiling-up of the grips.
