Chapter 10 • Positioning Text
You can automatically center each line of text or you can
position it against either the right or left edge of the screen.
You can also adjust the vertical position of the text on each
page, centering the text or positioning it at the top or bottom
of the page. When you type text, it automatically appears at
the center of the screen. As you type more, the whole block
of text remains centered. You can change the position of the
text by using the POSN (Position) key in conjunction with
the arrow keys.

Positioning Horizontally Left, Right, Center

Position the cursor on a text line. Press and release the POSN
key, (a light will go on in the upper right hand of the key-
board indicating the POSN key is in use) then press the
RIGHT or LEFT arrow on the keypad. The selected lines will
change position, between the left side of the screen, the
center, and the right side, and the light on the keyboard will
go out.

Positioning Vertically Up, Down, Center

You can also automatically position the text vertically, mak-
ing it appear at the top, middle, or bottom of a screen.

Additional Positioning Hints

You can fine-tune the horizontal positioning by adding
spaces to the front of each line, or using tabs (see the section,
"Tabs," in Chapter 6). You can fine-tune the vertical position
on a page by adding blank lines to the page (press NEW
LINE/OK a number of times). Since the height of a line is
determined by font and size, you can further fine tune verti-
cal positioning by changing the font and size of the blank
lines.
