Tools Needed:
1. Phillips Head Screwdriver
2. 1/4" Open Ended Wrench
3. Measuring Tape
4. Stud Finder
5. 2" Hole Saw andPower Drill
6. 5/16" Open End Wrench

Instructions:
The Sonos® Speaker Mount And In-wall Power Solution is an easy to install power and mounting system for
your Sonos® PLAY: 1 wireless speaker that provides power and conceals cabling behind the wall for a
professional appearance.
Please read through the instructions before beginning the install. Follow Fig 1. on reverse side, as a
guide when installing.
1. Using a 2" hole saw, create a hole in the wall, where the speaker will be mounted. —NOTE: the center of this hole will be
aligned with the mounting socket on the back of the speaker.
2. Using your preferred method of snaking wire, feed the WIP from the 2" hole to the junction/electrical box where the wire
will be tied in.
3. Follow your local electric code, tie the WIP end into your designated junction/electrical box.
4. Insert the C714 Handle Assemly through the Speedport. Clip the Screw Cap onto the Handle Assembly. See Speedport
Assembly on the reverse side. Then insert the Spoeedport and Handle assembly into the 2" hole.
5. Tighten the two mounting tabs located on the Speedport to secure it into the wall. Finish by snapping the now connected
screw cap and handle into the Speedport.
6. Finish the Speedport Assembly by inserting the 1/4"-20 Stud into the screw cap (turn left to tighten into speed-port), leaving
1/8" inch between the screw cap and the hex nut of stud.—NOTE: This will be fully seated once the Speaker is mounted.
7. Using the included Rubber Bumper, place it on the back of the speaker, near the top. —NOTE: The bumper will rest
between the wall and the speaker once it is mounted.
8. With the speaker upside down, rest the opening of the mounting socket against the 1/4"-20 stud. Using a 1/4" wrench, turn
the stud counter clock wise. This will tighten the stud into the Speedport, while simultaneously tightening into the Speaker.
9. Plug the C714 Connector into the Speaker.
Your SONOS® PLAY: 1 wireless speaker with in-wall power is now ready for use.

1. (1) Overmolded C714 Handle Assembly with 10', 15', 25', or 40' WIP
2. (1) 2" Speedport with Screw Cap and 1/4"-20 Stud
3. (2) Rubber Bumper

Speedport Assembly
Insert the C714 Handle Assembly into the Speedport, then
seat the screw cap's opening around the handle, and once the
speedport is fastened to the wall, insert the screw cap into the
opening of the speedport. The 1/4 - 20" stud will screw into
the cap/speedport and will secure the assembly.
Note the placement of the rubber bumper, placed in the top
center of the speaker (Bottom center once speaker is hung
upside down.
NOTE: The wrench should not be wider than 1/4", in order to properly
seat the speaker.
Use a 5/16" open end wrench to
tighten the 1/4"-20 stud into the
speaker and the Speedport™.
