Function
The pivoting arm has two clutch shafts
with slip clutches that engage if the saw
blade is overloaded. It is important for the
functioning of the saw that the slip torque is
correctly adjusted.
The clutch shaft gear wheels and shafts
are marked at the periphery. They must
have a position relative to each other during
assembly. The clutch shafts must also have a
specific position adjacent to the gear wheel.
These settings are described later.
Tools
To adjust the clutch shafts' slip torque, the
following special tools are needed:
523 05 71-01 Fixture for holding the gear
wheels in a vice. Note in the following stage
that work will be simplified if the fixture is
also used to attach the socket 523 05 76-01.
523 05 76-01 Socket to secure the primary
drive.
523 05 77-01 Socket for adjuster nut.
Torque meter with display In order to
follow the slip torque in motion, a torque
meter with some type of continuous display
is needed. A torque wrench with torque release
does not give the right result.
Slip torque – adjustment
The slip torque is adjusted by changing the
tightening of the hook nut.
Adjust the hook nut's tightening
1. Attach the socket as shown in the figure.
2. Insert the clutch shaft into the socket.
Adjust both stop screws so that they grip
between the gear teeth.
