Vehicles with Driver Information Center (DIC):
The Engine Oil Life System will tell you when
to change the engine oil and filter. See
Engine Oil Life System on page 252. An
Emission Control Service. (See footnote *)
Vehicles without Driver Information Center:
Change engine oil and filter (or every
3 months, whichever occurs first). An Emission
Control Service.
Replace engine air cleaner filter. See Engine
Air Cleaner/Filter on page 254 for more
information.
Rotate tires. See Tire Inspection and Rotation
on page 293 for proper rotation pattern and
additional information. (See footnote +.)
Replace spark plugs. An Emission Control
Service.
Change automatic transmission fluid and filter if
the vehicle is mainly driven under one or more
of these conditions:
− In heavy city traffic where the outside
temperature regularly reaches 90°F
(32°C) or higher.
− In hilly or mountainous terrain.
− Uses such as found in taxi, police,
or delivery service.
If you have not used your vehicle under severe
service conditions listed previously and, therefore,
have not changed your automatic transmission
fluid, change both the fluid and filter.
150,000 Miles (240 000 km)
Drain, flush, and refill cooling system (or every
60 months since last service, whichever occurs
first). This service can be complex; you
should have your dealer perform this service.
See Engine Coolant on page 257 for what
to use. Inspect hoses. Clean radiator,
condenser, pressure cap, and neck. Pressure
test the cooling system and pressure cap.
An Emission Control Service.
Inspect engine accessory drive belt. Visually
inspect belt for fraying, excessive cracks, or
obvious damage. Replace belt if necessary.
An Emission Control Service.
