Canadian law requires that forward
restraints have a top strap, and that the strap
be anchored.
If your child restraint has a top strap, it should
be anchored.
Some vehicles come with top strap anchors already
installed for the rear seating positions. If your vehicle
has top strap anchors, you'll find them behind the rear
seat on the filler panel. In order to get to a bracket,
you'll have to remove the trim cover.
Once you have the top strap anchored, you'll be ready to
secure the child restraint itself.

If your vehicle doesn't already have top strap anchors,
and your child restraint has a top strap, your dealer can
obtain a kit with anchor hardware and installation
instructions specifically designed for this vehicle. The
dealer can then install the anchor for you. This work will
be done for you free of charge. Or, you may install the
anchor yourself, using the instructions provided in
the kit.
