Use resistor type spark plugs with a
N
properly tightened adapter nut.
Installing the spark plug
Screw home the spark plug, fit the
N
boot and press it down firmly.
PC 70, PC 75

Lubricating the Gearbox

Check the grease level regularly –
N
about every 50 hours of operation.
Unscrew the filler plug (1). If no
N
grease can be seen on the inside of
the filler plug, screw the tube (2) of
STIHL gear lubricant for
brushcutters (special accessory)
into the filler hole.
Squeeze up to 40 g grease into the
N
gearbox.
NOTICE
Do not completely fill the gearbox with
grease.
Remove the tube of grease (2).
N
Refit the filler plug (1) and tighten it
N
down firmly.

Storing the Machine

For periods of 3 months or longer
Drain and clean the fuel tank in a
N
well ventilated area.
Dispose of fuel properly in
N
2
accordance with local
environmental requirements.
Run the engine until the carburetor
N
is dry – this helps prevent the
carburetor diaphragms sticking
together.
Clean the cutting attachment, check
N
its condition and coat it with a
standard corrosion inhibitor.
Fit the transport guard.
N
If gearbox and cutting attachment
N
are removed from machine: Fit the
protective cap on the drive tube to
protect it against contamination.
Thoroughly clean the machine – pay
N
special attention to the cylinder fins
and air filter.
Store the machine in a dry and
N
secure location Keep out of the
reach of children and other
unauthorized persons.
