Environmental Compliance Statements
Symantec designs its products to meet environmental protection requirements worldwide, including regulations restricting certain chemical substances.
This chapter includes the environmental compliance statements for the Symantec S550 appliance.
European Union RoHS Compliance Statement
This appliance is designed to be compliant with the European Union Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2) as amended by Directive (EU) 2015/
863. RoHS restricts the use of certain hazardous substances such as Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated
Biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE), and BisBis(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP),
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) from 22 July 2019, in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
Through internal design controls and supply chain declarations, Symantec appliances have been verified to comply with the EU RoHS

European Union Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive
All Symantec appliances that are subject to the EU WEEE Directive are compliant with the WEEE marking requirements and are marked with the "crossed
out wheelie bin" WEEE symbol shown below in accordance with European Standard EN 50419.

In the European Union, this symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this appliance must not be disposed of with the
regular household waste. Instead, it is your responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment by handing it over to a designated col-
lection point for the recovery and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
