    About this Manual The operation described here mainly refers to the use of the remote control handset (R/C). Buttons with same or similar marking at the main unit have the same function like those of the R/C. If this symbol occurs on the screen during operation, that function requested is not supported by the media type inserted.

    Please note for a better understanding of this manual that the program of a DVD may be divided into several “titles” (e.g. main movie, bonus material, interviews etc.). Each of these titles can be divided into “chapters”. The program of audio CD’s is divided into “tracks”.

    Connecting the TV using a SCART Cable Please connect the components as shown with a SCART cable. Using a S-video cable If your TV set is equipped with a S-video input we recommend to use a S-video cable. It provides improved picture quality compared to using the normal video output.

    Connecting Diagram for your Digital Home Cinema Optical Digital Output To keep the optical output from dust and dirt we’ve put in a protective cap. If you’re going to use the socket please carefully remove the cap and store it. When you remove the connection you should replace the cap.

    Operation Switching On and Off, Stand-by Connect the mains cord to a wall outlet with a voltage corresponding to the specifications on the rear panel of the unit. Press the button to switch on the unit. That activates the LCD display showing your equipment is ready for action.

    Directly Calling up Titles and Chapters When playback is stopped you can call up certain titles by just pressing any numeric button, then typing in the title’s and chapter's number. Instantly the playback starts there. During DVD playback just type in a certain chapter’s number to let playback jump there.

    The DVD Setup Menu This is where you arrange all necessary settings for the cooperation of the DVD player with the TV set and other audio equipment. Press SETUP before or during playback to access those menus shown below. Use the navigation keys to operate the menu.

Dynamic means the ratio between very quiet and very loud passages, so between whispering and explosion. In case of having touchy neighbours, or if you like to watch action movies at nighttime, you better lower this control, to reduce the dynamic.

    Having activated CHANGE please enter the old password (factory setting is 1234). Now type in the new one and repeat it for safety confirmation. You close this procedure by pressing ENTER. From now on the new password has to be entered for changing the parental control level.
