Simply pull out the insulation tag in the battery compartment. The remote control is now functional. Be sure to observe the polarity makings which are engraved inside the battery compartment, then close the cover.

  • Page 7 PREPARATION FOR USE Remove the unit carefully from the box, retaining the packaging for future use. Read these instructions carefully before use. CONNECTIONS Connect the speakers to the speaker sockets on the back of the unit. Connect the right speaker to the right socket and the left speaker to the left socket. Connect the AM loop antenna to its socket at the rear of the product.
  • Page 8 LISTENING TO THE RADIO OPERATION Press the STANDBY/ON button to turn the unit on. Select the Tuner function by pressing the TUNER button. Select the desired frequency band that your station is on (FM, AM) with the BAND Selector button on the unit .
  • Page 9 HANDLING COMPACT DISCS To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc out,holding it carefully by the edges. Fingerprints and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc's recorded surface with a soft cloth. Unlike conventional records, compact discs have no grooves to collect dust and microscopic debris so gently wiping with a soft cloth should remove most particles.Wipe in a straight line from the inside to the outside of the disc.
  • Page 10 Insert a CD as described in the previous section and close the disc compartment. The display will then show the total number of tracks and total playtime. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button. Disc play will begin from the start of the first track of the disc.A particular track can be selected using either of the CD SKIPbuttons .
  • Page 11 TO SKIP BACK TO THE PREVIOUS TRACK ON A DISC For example to skip back to the beginning of track 3 while track 4 is playing. Press the SKIP REW TRACK button twice. Disc play will resume at the beginning of track 3. The CD player will skip back one track each time the Reverse Skip Track button is pressed.
  • Page 12 This continues until all the tracks have been played on that disk, the unit will then enter the STOP mode. It is possible to program, the tracks you wish to play in a sequence of your choice, it is not po- ssible to enter programs during disc play.
  • Page 13 Whilst using the Timer function please ensure the volume is set to a reasonable level before setting the timer to avoid Audio shock damaging the speakers at switching on. Once the timer has activated the unit will remain on for 60minute before switching off and when using tape or CD Audio will be heard until the 60 minute switch off time is reached or the tape or CD ends whichever is the sooner.
  • Page 14 PREPARATION PLAYBACK Press the STANDBY/ON button to turn the unit on. Select the TAPE function by pressing the TAPE button. Insert your cassette tape as mentioned above Press the PLAY button to activate playback. Use the PAUSE button whenever you want to suspend playback. Press the STOP/EJECT button when finished.
  • Page 15 RECORDING FROM CD Press the STANDBY/ON button to turn the unit on. Select the CD function by pressing the CD button and insert a disc. Press the RECORD button and the PLAY button at the same time. Press the CD PLAY/PAUSE button. To stop recording, press the STOP button of the CD player.

Switch off the power, press the Stop/Eject button to open the cassette door, and press the Play button. Clean the tape heads, pinch roller and capstan with a soft cloth or cotton bud dampened in iso-propylalcohol or special tape head cleaner.
