Sounds and notifications

Change settings for various sounds on the device.
On the Settings screen, tap Sounds and notifications.
• R ingtone: Select a ringtone for incoming calls or adjust the volume level for call
ringtones.
• V ibrate when ringing: Set the device to vibrate and play a ringtone for incoming calls.
• N otification: Select a ringtone for events, such as incoming messages, or adjust the
volume level for notifications.
• M edia: Adjust the volume level for music and videos.
• S ystem: Adjust the volume level for system sounds.
• O ther sounds: Change additional sound settings.
• D o not disturb: Set the device to mute all alert sounds and show notifications only on
the notification panel, except for allowed exceptions.
• A pp notifications: Allow or block notifications from each app.
• N otifications on lock screen: Set whether or not to show the content of notifications on
the locked screen.
• S tatus bar icons: Select icons to display as indicator icons on the status bar.
• S mart alert: Set the device to alert you if you have missed calls or new messages when
you pick up the device.
This feature may not work if the screen is turned on or the device is not on a flat
surface.

Display

Change the display settings.
On the Settings screen, tap Display.
• B rightness: Adjust the brightness of the display.
• O utdoor mode: Activate outdoor mode to make the display easier to see in bright
conditions.
• F ont: Change the font size and type.
• S creen timeout: Set the length of time the device waits before turning off the display's
backlight.
