Spark Arrestor Screen

Carbon deposits in muffler will cause drop in engine output and
overheating. Spark arrestor screen must be checked periodically.
1.
Remove spark plug lead.
2.
Place piston at top dead center.
3.
Remove three screws (A) that
attach Muffler Cover (B) and
remove cover.
4.
Remove Spark Arrestor Screen
(C) from Muffler Body (D).
5.
Clean carbon deposits from
muffler components.
6.
Replace Spark Arrestor Screen
(C) if it is cracked, or has holes
burned through.
7.
Assemble components in
reverse order.
Note: When cleaning carbon deposit, be careful not to damage the
catalytic element inside Muffler Body (D).

Exhaust Port Cleaning

Level 2.
Parts Required:
1.
Remove spark plug lead.
2.
Place piston at top dead center.
3.
Remove Bolts (A) that attach
Muffler Cover (B) and remove
cover.
4.
Remove muffler (C). Check
parts for wear or damage, and
replace if necessary.
