FAQ

Q1 The LED indicators of the OccuSwitch DALI
constantly show red?
A1 For an explanation of the LED indicators,
see section 6 . 1 .
Q2 The LED indicators are continuously blinking?
A2 For an explanation of the LED indicators see
section 6 . 1 .
Q3 All luminaires are at the same light level and there is
no daylight dependent regulation?
A3 There may be too many luminaires connected to the
OccuSwitch DALI . Disconnect all but one luminaire to
see if daylight dependent regulation functions with
one luminaire connected .
Q4 All luminaires have a constant light level of 100%
(emergency mode)?
A4 Possible causes are:
• The DALI line may be in short-circuit,
• There may be two OccuSwitch DALI on the same
DALI line,
• There are too many drivers on one DALI output,
• The DALI input line is not powered .
Q5 Can I use just use any BMS gateway to be
connected to the ActiLume DALI gen2?
A5 In principle yes, but it depends on what functionality
is needed . If just simple DALI commands need to be
send to the ActiLume than you can use any gateway
that can "talk" DALI . If the Night Mode for example
needs to be enabled/disabled, the gateway needs to
be able to send memory-bank commands . If it
is needed to make use of the occupancy data or IR
HVAC commands that are shared over the Parallel
Linking/BMS connection then a specific gateway
needs to be used . Currently Loytec is the sole
supplier of such a gateway . The types available and
their function are as follows .

Q6 Does the Loytec gateway need specific firmware for
being able to communicate to the OSD BMS?
A6 Yes, the gateway needs to have firmware version
5 .3 . 0 or higher . This firmware is available on the
Loytec website .
Q7 Is it possible to just have presence detection with a
fixed lightlevel coming from the luminaires?
A7 When selecting Mode 7 (Toilets) all daylight
dependencies are switched off . By using the up/down
keys on the IRT9090 you can change the lightoutput
of the luminaires . If the correct lightlevel is created,
press the "save" button on the remote to store that
level . When presence is detected the lifghts will go to
this saved level and after hold time, the lights will go
to background level and after prolong time the lights
will be switched off .
