Power Supply Replacement Instructions
This document helps you to complete the following tasks:
v Identify a failed power supply
v Remove the failed power supply and replace it with a new power supply
v Verify that the replacement power supply is working correctly
Important: Before you proceed with these instructions, review the IBM Systems Safety Notices provided in
the IBM Media Terms and Conditions CD that is included with your appliance model.

  • Page 2 CAUTION: The power control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
  • Page 3 Identifying a failed power supply Each power supply unit uses an LED that indicates whether the unit is working as expected. Figure 1 describes the LEDs that are displayed by the power supply units for the appliance: Figure 1.
