Tighten the longer screws 2
five turns.
Repeat this sequence until
the backrest is firmly secured.
Here, tighten the screws only
hand-tight.
Backrest on seat bench
1 lb/ft (2 Nm)
Close the seat 3.

Brakes

Adjust handbrake lever
WARNING
Modified position of the
brake fluid reservoir
Air in the brake system
Do not twist the handlebar fit-
ting or the handlebars.
WARNING
Adjusting the handbrake
lever while driving.
Accident hazard
Only adjust the handbrake
lever when the Scooter is
stationary.
Turn adjusting screw 1 of the
left handbrake lever or adjust-
ing screw 2 of the right hand-
brake lever into the desired
position.
NOTICE
The adjusting screw is easier to
turn if you push the brake lever
forwards.
Adjustment options:
from Position 1: largest dis-
tance between handlebar grip
and brake lever
up to Position 5: smallest dis-
tance between handlebar grip
and brake lever

Spring preload

Setting
It is essential to set spring
preload of the rear suspension
to suit the load carried by the
Maxi­Scooter. Increase spring
preload when the vehicle is
heavily loaded and reduce spring
preload accordingly when the
vehicle is lightly loaded.
