1.2 Benefits

Simple Structure, Easy Site Selection, and Flexible Combination
The DBS3800 has two types of basic modules (BBU and RRU), which reduces dependence
on additional spare parts and lowers the maintenance cost. The BBU and the RRU can be
configured flexibly to meet different requirements of operators.
Smooth Evolution
In an effort to address the requirements of operators for network deployment in different
phases, the DBS3800 can be configured with boards and modules of different processing
capabilities to support future capacity expansion and smooth evolution.
In the RAN12.0 version, the Enhanced Baseband Card (EBBCd) is added and supports
evolution to HSPA+ Phase 2.
Strong Environment Adaptability and Convenient Site Deployment
The functional modules of the DBS3800 provide small size, lightweight, and strong
environment adaptability.
The BBU can be installed in the free space of an existing site; whereas the RRU can be easily
installed on a metal pole, wall, or stand. Before delivery, all the software is installed, and all
the hardware is assembled and commissioned.
Field engineers only need to install the related modules and connect the external cables. After
the data configuration is downloaded locally or remotely, the NodeB begins to operate
normally.
