    Connecting the interface and power supply cables Connect the PT-9200DX to the computer according to the instructions below. When connecting to the serial port: Serial 1 Make sure that both the PT-9200DX and the computer are turned off. 2 Connect one end of the enclosed serial interface cable to the serial connector (IOIOI) of the PT-9200DX and the other end of the cable to the serial port of the computer.
  • Page 7 You must install the software first before connecting to the USB interface or turning on the power. Please follow the installation procedures on pages 6 through 12 before connecting up or turning the power on. The Brother P-touch installation software will instruct you when to do this.

    Installing P-touch Editor Before labels can be printed on the PT-9200DX, the P-touch Editor software and the PT-9200DX printer driver must be installed. P-touch Editor & Printer Driver Installation (for Windows Install P-touch Editor Version 3.1 and the printer driver on a PC as described below. Check that your system configuration meets the following requirements.

    Clicking the Custom Install button displays a dialog box that allows you to select which options to install. Only the options with a check mark beside them are installed. Select the options that you wish to install, and then click the Install button. Dialog box that appears if the Custom Install button is clicked: 6 Installation begins.

    Changing the P-touch’s Baud Rate The PT-9200DX’s default baud rate for a serial connection is 115,200 bps. Some computers may not support a serial port baud rate of 115,200 bps. If so, follow the procedure below to change the P-touch’s baud rate to 9,600 bps. In addition, the baud rate for the port must also be set to 9,600 bps.
