ENGINE OIL

NOTE:
This motorcycle is shipped from factory with the
engine filled with engine oil.
Operating the engine with too little or too much
oil can damage the engine.
Hold the motorcycle vertically. Check the oil
level with the engine oil level bolt before each
use of the motorcycle. If oil flows out when the
oil check bolt is removed, the oil level is appro-
priate.
Check the engine oil level as follows.
1. Check that the engine oil is in the engine by watch-
ing through the engine oil level inspection window.
2. Start the engine and allow it to run for three minutes
at idling speed.
3. Stop the engine and wait two minutes.
4. Hold the motorcycle vertically.
5. Remove the oil level bolt.
6. If engine oil is excessive, oil will flow out from the oil
level hole.
7. If oil does not flow out, retighten the oil level bolt,
remove the oil filler cap, then add oil from the oil
filler hole.
8. Remove the oil level bolt again and check that oil
comes out from the oil level hole.
9. After engine oil stops coming out, reinstall the oil
level bolt and the oil filler cap.
Tighten them securely.
 Oil level bolt: 5.5 N·m (0.56 kgf-m)
