Strip Heaters are designed for ease of
®

operation. Use the following information and procedures to
operate the unit.
WARNING
Read all safety messages in the IMPORTANT SAFETY
INFORMATION section before operating this equipment.
CAUTION
BURN HAZARD: Some exterior surfaces on the unit will
get hot. Avoid unnecessary contact with unit.
Controls
Infra-Black Strip Heaters are equipped with either a
Thermostatic Control Box with Indicator Lights (TCBI) mounted
on the unit or an optional remote control enclosure (RMB)
mounted remotely. The following is a list of the available
controls for either control configuration.
I/O (on/off) Toggle Switch—Turns power on and off to the
heating elements and/or the lights.
Thermostatic Control—Controls the temperature of the
heating element(s). The thermostatic control is available only
on a TCBI-equipped unit.
Infinite Control—Turns on the power and controls the output
of the heating elements. The infinite control is available only on
a remote control enclosure.
Indicator Light—Illuminates when power is on, shuts off when
power is off.
Startup
1. Move the I/O (on/off) toggle switch to the I (on) position
and/or turn the infinite control(s) to the desired setting.
• The indicator light (if equipped) will illuminate and the
heating elements will energize.
2. For units with a thermostatic control, turn the control to the
desired setting.
NOTE: Allow 15–20 minutes to reach operating temperature.
3. For units with display lights, move the lights I/O (on/off)
toggle switch to the I (on) position to turn on the lights.

Shutdown
1. Move the I/O (on/off) toggle switch to the O (off) position
and/or turn the infinite control(s) to the O (off) position.
• The indicator light (if equipped) will shut off and the
heating elements will shut down.
2. For units with display lights, move the lights I/O (on/off)
toggle switch to the O (off) position.
