CHECKING THE SIGNAL SYSTEM

1. The turn signal light, turn signal indicator
light, hazard or both fail to blink.
1. Turn signal indicator light bulb and socket
S Check the turn signal light bulb and socket
for continuity.
S Are the turn signal light bulbs and socket OK?
YES
2. Turn signal switch
S Check the turn signal switch for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE SWITCHES".
S Is the turn signal switch OK?
YES
3. Hazard switch (for EUR)
S Check the hazard switch for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE SWITCHES".
S Is the hazard switch OK?
YES
4. Hazard relay (for EUR)
S Remove the hazard relay from the wire har-
ness.
S Connect the pocket tester (Ω
hazard relay terminals as shown.
Tester positive probe ! blue/red
Tester negative probe ! brown/red
NO
Replace the turn
signal light bulb,
socket or both.
NO
Replace the left
handlebar switch.
NO
Replace the left han-
dlebar switch.

S Does the hazard relay have continuity?
YES
5. Hazard relay (for EUR)
S Remove the hazard relay from the wire har-
ness.
S Connect the pocket tester (Ω
tery (12 V) to the hazard relay terminals as
shown.
Positive battery lead ! brown
Negative battery lead ! black
Positive tester probe ! brown
Negative tester probe ! brown/red
S Does the hazard relay have continuity?
YES
ELEC
NO
Replace the hazard
relay.
