REMOVING THE CLUTCH

1. Remove:
S generator cover 1
Refer to "STARTER CLUTCH AND GENER-
ATOR". (Manual No.: 5GJ1-AE1)
NOTE:
Loosen each bolt 1/4 of a turn at a time, in
stages and in a crisscross pattern.
After all of the bolts are fully loosened, remove
them.
2. Remove:
S nut 2
S clutch assembly 3
NOTE:
Before removal, apply a and b alignment
marks.
Align these marks during reassembly.
3. Remove:
S circlip 4
NOTE:
Install the clutch spring holder 5 onto the clutch
assembly as shown. Then, compress the
spring, and remove the circlip 4 .

4. Remove:
S spring stopper plate 6
S clutch spring
S pressure plate
S friction and clutch plates
S weight thrust plate
S weights
S springs
NOTE:
Before removing, check that the balance-ad-
justing hole(s) c (1 to 3 points) is positioned on
the spring stopper plate 6 . When the balance-
adjusting hole is positioned on the plate, install
at the same position where it was removed.
