6.1 AES8024

Digital AES/EBU I/O contains an additional board with the driver hardware for the AES/EBU inputs and out-
puts, the required XLR fittings including balancing transformers, and an update of the operating software. You
have the choice of ordering the option with the purchase of your ULTRA-DYNE PRO, or adding it at a later
stage. For subsequent installation, please send your ULTRA-DYNE PRO to the address given in Chapter 8
FREIGHT PREPAID, indicating the desired option.
Return your ULTRA-DYNE PRO to us for the installation, otherwise you will void your warranty.

6.2 Operating software

The ULTRA-DYNE PRO operating software is under continuous development to improve its performance and
control, and to keep pace with your expectations and requirements. Please inform us of your needs and
suggestions for this reason. We will make every effort to put your ideas into practice in future software
updates. To receive a software update, you must send your ULTRA-DYNE PRO to the address given in
Chapter 8. Information about new software versions will be available through music magazines, from your
dealer, our Web site www.behringer.com or directly from BEHRINGER (phone +49 2154 920666).
The current software version will always be shown in the lower right of the display shortly after switching the
ULTRA-DYNE PRO on.

6.3 Changing the memory buffer battery

The battery which maintains the program memory when power is switched off has a life of several years,
depending on the frequency and duration of use. As the battery becomes depleted, the following message will
appear on the display:
WARNING: BATTERY LOW
You should send the unit back to us as quickly as possible. We are able to replace the battery without losing
the programs stored in the memory.
If you fail to replace the buffer battery, the message
BATTERY EMPTY: MEMORY CLEARED
will appear on the display after a while. If this happens, you have lost all your programs. Furthermore, new
programs will also be lost once the ULTRA-DYNE PRO is switched off.
If you decide to replace the battery yourself please note that you will invalidate your warranty. We recommend
that you let qualified personel replace the battery.
Disconnect the ULTRA-DYNE PRO from mains before opening the enclosure.
Warning: Danger of explosion when battery is placed incorrectly! Replace only with the same
type (see technical specifications). When replacing the battery, the correct polarity should be
observed.
Empty batteries are toxic waste and must be disposed of properly.

6.4 In planning

A convenient PC application is being developed for the control of one or more ULTRA-DYNE PROs via MIDI
with extended functionality. An IBM-compatible PC with a MIDI interface will be required.
