Using the External Optical Drive

NOTE: The eject button is electronic
and requires power in order to use.
1. Press the stop/open button on the top cover
panel of the drive to open the top cover.
3. Hold the disc by the edge and face the disc's
printed side up. Push down on both sides of
the disc's center until the disc snaps onto the
hub. The hub should be higher than the disc
when correctly mounted.
NOTE: It is normal to hear as well as feel the disc spinning with great intensity in the
optical drive while data is read.

Ejecting a Disc from the External Optical Drive

1. Press the open/stop button on the top cover panel of the drive to open the top cover.
2. Carefully remove the disc from the drive.
3. Close the top cover by gently pressing it downwards.

2. When the top cover opens, carefully lift the top
cover fully upward.
4. Close the top cover by gently pressing the cover
downwards until the top cover locks in place. The
drive will begin reading the table of contents
(TOC) on the disc. When the drive stops, the disc
is ready to be used.
