Technical Reference
This chapter describes the hot swappable devices and LED status lights on the StorTrends
1312. The following are hot swappable:

Hard Drive
The hot swappable SCSI hard drive carrier holds the hard drive in
place when inserted into the chassis. There are twelve carriers total.
Each has two status LED lights viewable from the front bezel.
Green indicates that the drive is online. Red indicates the drive has
failed.
Hard drives can be easily removed and replaced when it fails.
Simply slide the failed drive out from the chassis. Replace the failed
drive from the carrier and reinsert it into the empty bay.
Always allow the SCSI drives and power supplies to cool
before you handle them.
Status LED
Power
Illuminates green when the system is powered on.
Power Supply
Illuminates red when the power supply fails. There is also an audible
Failed
beep.
Temperature
Illuminates red when the temperature exceeds its setting.
Warning
Cooling Fan
Illuminates red when the cooling fan fails.
Failed
Hard Drive
There are two hard drive status LEDs on each of the twelve SCSI hard
drive carriers. One illuminates green when the drive is online. The other
illuminates red if the hard drive fails.
