Basic Operations
This chapter will explain the basic operations of the product.
Touch and Navigation
Turning On and Off the Display (Touch Panel)
If you do not operate product for a short time, the display will turn off
(go into sleep mode).
• To put the cell phone into sleep mode and to take it out of sleep
mode, press
.
• When talking on the cell phone with it close to your ear, the display
will turn off to avoid any unintended operations. When you remove
the cell phone from your ear, the display will turn on.
• You can change the length of time the cell phone will be idle before
sleep mode is activated.
Settings: On the Home Screen, tap
→ Screen Timeout.
• To lock the screen when in sleep mode, use the screen lock.
◎ Covering the sensor shown in the diagram will make the touch panel go
darker. Please do not use covers or display protectors that cover the
sensor (including transparent ones).

Types of Touch
The products display is a multi-touch screen. The phone can be
operated by touching this screen.
◎ Do not apply strong pressure with your fingers or sharp-pointed objects
(such as fingernails, ballpoint pens and pins) on the touch panel.
◎ Do not use touch pens. Please use your finger.
◎ If the display gets wet or if you try to operate it with a wet finger or nail, the
product may not function correctly.
• Tap:
Lightly tap on a menu item or icon on the screen.
• Long Touch: If touching a menu item or icon for a short while,
other operations will be available. Such as a pop up menu or your
can move the icon to the home screen.
